Golf Pride’s Charlie Fisher Headlines Education Presentations

It was a beautiful sunny day at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club for the 2019 Carolinas PGA Global Golf Sales Sandhills Area V Meeting and Golf Challenge Presented by Bionic Glove, Golf Genius, PGA Tour & Source4.  The meeting included educational partner presentations, as well as a section update from Vice President Bob Byrnes, Executive Director Jeff Abbot, PGA Junior League Manager Daryl Batey, PGA and Career Consultant Michael Mueller, PGA.  The featured education was a dynamic presentation from Golf Pride Marketing Channel Manager Charlie Fisher, PGA.

Area Director Brock White provided an area update, and was elected by acclamation for a second two year term as Area Director starting in February 2020.  The team of Derek Sanders (PGA Tour) and Matt Vick (Pinehurst Resort) came out on top with a 21 point total in the 9 hole modified Stableford event at The Cradle.  The section would also like to thank Pinehurst Resort Executive Vice President, Matt Massei, PGA and  Director of Golf, Ben Bridgers, PGA for hosting the meeting.

Chechessee Creek Club
2018 CPGA Private Merchandiser of the Year

The merchandising philosophy at Chechessee Creek Club is to provide not only the most popular items on the market, but to also introduce some new, trendy lines that are on the cutting edge of fashion. We don’t sell products. We sell stories. This superiority is achieved by building relationships with patrons, utilizing our mix of products in a visually aesthetic manner, and involving our entire golf staff throughout the whole process.

Our approach to merchandising inspires us to take chances on unique items not found in a traditional golf shop. This wouldn’t be possible without an open-minded membership that feels more like family than customers. That camaraderie stems from our staff’s constant concern for not only our members’ wardrobe needs, but for their overall livelihood. Being a national club, we strive to know everything about our members; their children, their pets and details from their home clubs.

Our members and guests can choose a Peter Millar striped shirt or a Greyson camouflaged cashmere sweater. They can add Dunning pants and a Kjus pullover to compliment the outfit. We simply want to provide the perfect mix of essentials with distinct pieces that will make our shop memorable. We are committed to offering traditional, classic pieces while at the same time introducing unique items that you may consider “different”. Golf fashion has certainly progressed from khaki pants and white shirts to bright colors and patterns.

One walk through our shop reiterates the idea that every piece is in place to help sculpt the story of each and every one of our members and guests. Our members and guests are very important to us. And it’s those relationships that make the Chechessee Creek Club golf shop successful.

I would suggest everyone to get outside of your comfort zone next time you meet with your salesmen. You might be surprised how your members and guests react.

Upcoming Pro-Ams

With the passing of Resolution 1 at the Annual Meeting, sanction fees have been eliminated from all Pro-Ams effective immediately. Any event with more than 8 PGA members and a purse will still need to be sanctioned and the process for doing so will remain the same.
